Description

Client books. I send a questionnaire through e-mail. (Asking info about him/her, budget, what she or he is looking for, etc... /see the questionnaire attached/) Based on the reply I create the route: I pick 3-4 stores that suit their budget, taste and styling preferences. I tend to show them the uniqueness of Italian boutiques, however, my overall priority is going to bring them to stores that fully fit their requirements. It is like shopping with a friend that is experienced in styling: i keep a very friendly approach (this is just part of my personality). We meet in Milan, the exact location depends on the stores I pick, but it's usually somewhere in the city center in the Duomo area. We sit down for 10 minutes to grab a coffee. It has two purposes: to make them feel more comfortable by talking a bit, and two: to show them some foundational documentation I create for them. These documents are usually the seasonal colors (based on their characteristics) and a figure portfolio. This is a bonus they receive, but it is not an in-depth analysis, but a small sneak peek from the virtual products I provide on Etsy. So, for instance instead of providing a seasonal color analysis defined with the subgroup /for example Bright Spring/, I provide a generic seasonal color analysis /aka: Spring/. I explain to them that the shopping is going to be fun, and I ask them to have an open mind when it comes to my suggestions and that they don't have to feel the pressure to purchase anything. We go into the stores, if they want they follow me, if not they look around while I look for potential clothes to try on. These sometimes are entire outfits, sometimes just certain pieces. They come out, I explain why it flatters them, how to style it and what combinations they could create with it in the future. I always try to figure out their pain points so I can go directly to resolve them (for example 'How to match colors, how to look put together, how to look elegant but wear comfortable pieces). At the end of the experience they get a clear idea of their characteristics, they were pushed out of their comfort zones trying on items they would never try, and possibly have some amazing new pieces to bring home. I leave them the documentation in a folder with a flyer fro my Etsy store (offering a discount of €10).
