What 150 Color Analyses Taught Me About Real People and Color

What 150 Color Analyses Taught Me About Real People and Color

Last week, I spent an intense (and very colorful) day at the Pinterest activation during the Creativity 4 Better event in Milan, doing over 150 seasonal color analyses. It was loud, inspiring, and honestly a bit of a social experiment

You’d be surprised how many people arrived completely sure about their season... and left totally shocked. Even a few men (yes, men!) had that “wait, is this magic?” expression when they saw the right colors light up their skin.

The truth?

Most people don’t actually see themselves.

They’ve read something online, maybe tried a TikTok filter, or followed a trending palette but in real life, color harmony isn’t something an app can guess. It’s something you feel.

I heard so many say,

“I thought, I was a Winter because I like black,”
or
“I keep trying to wear Mocha Mousse because it’s the color this season, but I never feel great in it.”

And that’s where it clicked for me again: the pressure to fit into trend-driven colors is real, but it makes zero sense. Why buy a tone that doesn’t flatter you, just because it’s trending on Pinterest or Pantone’s list?

What I always tell my clients:

You can absolutely play with colors through the seasons, but do it within your palette.

If you’re an Autumn, lean into your deeper, warmer tones when the world goes cozy. When spring hits, lighten it up, go for the softer or brighter shades within your own palette.
That’s how I do it myself. I never switch colors because the calendar says so. I adjust the depth, not the identity

And here’s why it matters:

When you stick to your seasonal palette, a few magical things happen:

✔️ You instantly look more radiant and harmonized, no extra makeup needed.
✔️ Your wardrobe starts to match naturally, because every tone works together.
✔️ You stop buying things that only looked good on the hanger (or in marketing photos).

Seeing 150 people go through that same “aha” moment reminded me why I always bring seasonal color analysis into every consultation, whether it’s a personal shopping experience or a full transformation

Because this isn’t just about another trend.
When your colors align, everything else starts to click too.

Coming soon: At the end of October, I’m launching my new digital course, a deep dive into not just the world of colors, but all the essentials you need to create an authentic, aligned style that truly represents who you are.
If this topic resonated with you, stay tuned. You’ll want to be part of it.
